| Veracitor Launch ... Back to News |
Yale is set to revolutionise the highly competitive lift truck market with the launch of the new VeracitorTM VX series, following a $140m investment and five-year development programme by its parent company NACCO Materials Handling, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of materials handling equipment.
The 1 - 3.5 tonne engine-powered counterbalance range is offered in three models, each of which is inherently fit for purpose, and has been developed through a million hours of rigorous testing. The range offers customers increased productivity, customisation for their individual application needs and improved ergonomics designed with the operator in mind. Achieving lower operating costs, improved serviceability and easier periodic maintenance were paramount in the design and development of the range.
The three models can be customised for all applications. The Yale Base model simplifies low cost operations for customers with lighter-duty applications. The Yale Value model has the lowest hourly cost of operation without compromising performance in a wide variety of applications and the Yale Productivity model is suitable for medium to heavy duty applications.
“Our European launches mark a significant step change for Yale. They provide a platform to launch the company into the next phase of our growth and development”, explains Mike Rowlett, managing director, Yale Europe, “we have created a new brand identity, completely revamped our manufacturing process, adopted even more rigorous quality standards and undertaken a comprehensive review of our supplier base”.
“The need for cost and time savings, rationalisation, and optimising operations are hugely important factors in todays marketplace”, says Mike Rowlett, “we’ve responded to our customers needs to increase productivity by providing modular manufacturing for easy customisation and our new VeracitorTM VX series minimises investment and whole life time operating costs”.
Improved truck performance, uptime and ergonomics can reduce hidden operator costs by between 10-20 per cent. More comfort will reduce operator fatigue and simplified operation help maximise productivity over long shifts.
The VeracitorTM VXs new state-of-the-art design has been developed to address over 70% of unscheduled maintenance associated with four critical truck systems, electrical, hydraulics, cooling and transmission maintenance.
Unveiled for the first time in the lift truck industry major new technologies which contribute to Yale’s ability to have a true solution for customers’ materials handling demands are:-
(ADS) Auto-deceleration System which reduces brake usage and extends brake life by up to 60 per cent, leading to fewer brake shoe replacements and lower service costs. Features include a new robust clutch pack, which lasts three times longer than normal clutch systems, saving time and money. Wear on tyres is reduced by up to 50 per cent and fuel usage is also reduced.
(CSE) Continuous Stability Enhancement ensures lateral stability is improved and driver confidence boosted. With CSE’s simple mechanical operation, trucks can operate on uneven surfaces with a high degree of lateral stability. The system requires no maintenance and little repair as it has no wires, sensors, cylinders, hydraulic tubes or hoses. Further cost savings are achievable as there is no greasing compared with other systems on the market which require regular maintenance every 40 hours.
(CPR) Controlled Power Reversal facilitates smooth direction changes without shocks, virtually eliminating tyre spin and prolonging tyre life. In turn it provides long-term durability of truck transmission and improved fuel economy.
Intellix VSMTM Vehicle System Manager is a diagnostic computer that monitors all key functions to optimise performance and protect the truck, thus increasing efficiency by maximising uptime.
“We believe we have created a product that sits at the very heart of our company’s philosophy through its innovative design, comprehensive testing, advanced components and superior manufacturing” explains Mike, “the VeracitorTM VX - based on the word ‘veracity’ meaning adherence to truth – symbolises our commitment to be true to our customers’ needs and true to our promise of productivity”.
